Not exactly. By that point I had decided to leave Umbrella. They had instructed me to collect the data, but I already had the plan in place to fake my death and take my business elsewhere. My colleague gave me a prototype virus to help me with that plan. I didn't realize the broader implications of that virus for many years, but it did the trick. I died long enough to fool the surviving members of my team.
[His voice gets lower, but there's a smile in it.]
I woke up whole. Complete. I could feel every nerve ending so acutely. Suddenly these creatures I had helped develop weren't fast or strong enough. My most perfect creation was nothing compared to me.
The Tyrant. One in ten million human subjects had the appropriate genetic structure to bond with the T-virus and become a Tyrant. I thought it was the end-all, be-all of bio-organic weapons at the time.
The Wesker Project was an entirely separate entity. Children of parents with superior intellect were removed and raised in controlled environments, psychologically programmed, given opportunities for advancement in their chosen fields. At a certain age, they were given an experimental virus, either by force or through a friend. I was one of those children.
I was intended to be part of a new world order. I was programmed to seek out my creator, and when I found him, he was dying. Weak. Not fit to lead the world he wanted to see. I knew enough and saw no further use for him.
Used to is still potential. They can rise above anything. And that's a...a form of evolution, right? The right catalyst, under the right circumstances. Of course there's a period of adaption, but...
They just need something. Right now, they don't have nothing.

[ Whoops. Too familiar. ]
What was it like?

[He's quiet for a moment.]
Painful. Cold. But waking up again.

Did his vision die with him?
no subject
No, it did not.

That's an awfully hefty existence to wake up in. You still feel like the same person? Human faculties notwithstanding.

They used to work together. Real well. Maybe I could show you.

[He lets out an irritated sigh. Today really did a number on his faith in humanity, which was already virtually nonexistent.]
I'd hoped for better than this.

But it sure does come with some good rewards.

Are you alright?
no subject
You keep asking me that.
