I was hearin' bout 'em the other night.

I joined the police force and became captain of the squad. I had a team I was immensely proud of. They didn't have much to do where we were, though. When the outbreak occurred at Umbrella's research facility, I put them to work. A majority of them were killed. I spent the time collecting combat data.

[ Q sounds like he's settling in somewhere. ]

For Umbrella?

Not exactly. By that point I had decided to leave Umbrella. They had instructed me to collect the data, but I already had the plan in place to fake my death and take my business elsewhere. My colleague gave me a prototype virus to help me with that plan. I didn't realize the broader implications of that virus for many years, but it did the trick. I died long enough to fool the surviving members of my team.

Painful. Cold. But waking up again.

I woke up whole. Complete. I could feel every nerve ending so acutely. Suddenly these creatures I had helped develop weren't fast or strong enough. My most perfect creation was nothing compared to me.
